Snail

Snail used to be pest that invade our lawns and plants and eat the leaves, usually people pick them up and throw them away or use anti pest chemical to clean their gardens to be pest free. With the development of science and technology, snails become useful to our daily life. As an example snails now are being use as food in some culture, the slime are used to be a beauty treatment and the shells are used as necklaces, earrings and many other accessories.

Yesterday on Wednesday, me and my class were shown many unique design that based on snails. I find it very interesting that a small creature like a snail could be used as a base of so many interesting and unique designs. What actually piqued my interest is on how many designers manage to create and developed their own original ideas into something so unique and different from other people. Most of the designs showed in class have their own features that make them stand out from the rest of the competitor in market.

Our assignment for today is to brainstorm ideas with snail as the topic. At first i thought this will be quite a hard task since i have to think of new possibilities on how to use snail as an everyday object that everyone can use. With the help of my teammates we managed to create more than 20 ideas, then we cross the most common ones and pick an idea that's really interesting to make. We choose headphones to be our main product. I think now there are less cute and interestingly designed headphones, so we designed our headphone to be as unique as possible and the final design will be revealed next week!

Silent Walk

Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you're passionate about something, then you're more willing to take risks.

Yo-Yo Ma

The quote above pretty much explain on where does creativity come from. In the field of arts, i've tried a couple of things that took my interest;  like music, fashion, painting and also many other thing. Though i've tried many things i decided to follow what i truly passionate about and that is making illustration through digital drawing. Digital drawing is one of my many passion, i also have other interest in the field of architecture and interior design also landscape.

In my 1 hour lone walk under singapore's hot sun, i've photographed things that my eyes caught interest. Mostly my point of interest here is the green area along the city.

Where my journey start, by walking outside of my apartment building. The massive structure of Lasalle college of the arts always greeted me when i walk outside. The trees compared to the building is like a tiny dots of green colors. Even though small in comparison, the tree structure is strong and massive, similar to many skyscraper that can be found in singapore.

There are also buildings that i'm curious about. Buildings that have strange shape that's unique to the eye. What really caught my attention is the synagogue on waterloo street. Every time i went pass through the synagogue i always wondered what the interior looks like what are the rooms inside looks like, it is pretty interesting to imagine what the inside looks like.
